National Puerto Rican Museum of Arts and Culture and Google Arts & Culture Announce Historic New Partnership

CHICAGO – The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture (NMPRAC) is thrilled to announce a new and historic collaboration with Google Arts & Culture that will help the Museum digitize its current and future collections.

This new partnership is being made possible thanks to the support of the Miranda Family and will kick off during Hispanic Heritage Month with the online presentation of two deeply powerful and moving exhibits: Samuel Lind: Portales and Rebuilding with Resilience: Puerto Rico Community Engagement Stories

Also, for the first time ever, NMPRAC is debuting a brand-new exhibition exclusively online. The NMPRAC Anniversary exhibit celebrates two milestones: the 20th anniversary of the creation of the museum, and the 25th anniversary of Paseo Boricua and the world’s largest monument to a flag, the Puerto Rican Flags on Division Street.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture to our platform,” said Simon Delacroix, US Lead, Google Arts & Culture. “Through this partnership, we’re proud to share the country’s beautiful treasures, brilliant artists, and storied history with our global audience.”

“This is just the beginning,” stated Billy Ocasio, NMPRAC’s CEO. “This collaboration will allow us to reach and connect with communities from coast to coast and bring to the world the richness and beauty of Puerto Rican history, arts and culture.” We could not be more grateful to Google Arts & Culture and the Miranda Family for making this possible.”
